The Seoul Motor Show, now officially called the Seoul Mobility Show, marked its 30th anniversary in 2025 with a spectacular showcase at the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) in Goyang, South Korea. Held from April 4 to April 13, the event brought together the latest innovations in automotive technology and mobility solutions, drawing global attention from industry professionals and enthusiasts alike.
Since launching in 1995, the Seoul Motor Show has grown into one of Asia’s most prestigious automotive exhibitions. Recognized by the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles (OICA), it ranks as the fourth-largest auto show in Asia after the Tokyo Motor Show, Auto Shanghai, and Auto China. In 2021, the event was rebranded as the Seoul Mobility Show to reflect the industry’s broadening scope beyond traditional vehicles to encompass future-forward mobility solutions.
The 2025 edition stood out for its impressive scale and diversity, featuring 451 companies from 12 different countries. Leading automakers such as Hyundai, Kia, Genesis, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz unveiled their newest models and cutting-edge concepts. Among the key highlights were the Hyundai Sonata DN8 facelift, the debut of Kia’s EV9, and the BMW iX5 Hydrogen, showcased for the first time in South Korea.
A significant focus of this year’s show was sustainability and next-generation mobility. Visitors explored a range of electric vehicles (EVs), hydrogen fuel cell technology, and autonomous driving systems. Urban air mobility (UAM) was also spotlighted, with interactive displays offering a closer look at flying cars and smart aircraft. These innovations signalled the industry’s continued shift toward greener, smarter, and more connected transportation.
To mark its 30-year milestone, the Seoul Mobility Show included a commemorative exhibit that looked back at South Korea’s automotive journey. The special display highlighted the country’s transformation from a local car manufacturer to a global mobility powerhouse, giving attendees a deeper appreciation of the nation’s contributions to automotive innovation.
