Australia is home to lots of fantastic venues across the country.  The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) was opened in 1995. It is owned by South Bank Corporation on behalf of the Queensland Government and is proudly managed by leading international venue management specialists ASM Global.

With a focus on innovation and sustainability, BCEC brings over 26 years of industry knowledge to deliver exceptional, world class experiences with award-winning service, and a commitment to providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment.

Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre has a global reputation for excellence as reflected by 192 awards. This includes the AIPC APEX ‘World’s Best’ Convention Centre Award for 2016 to 2018, and Runner Up in the AIPC APEX Award for 2020-2022.

BCEC is the major driver of Business Events into Queensland and to date has created more than $4.9 billion in economic benefit for the State.

Our corporate responsibility program allows BCEC to give back to the community in which we do business. We work tirelessly to minimise the impact our events have on our environment.

The BCEC hosts a variety of exhibitions annually.  Exhibitions such as General Practice Conference & Exhibition (GPCE), Land Forces International Land Defence Exposition and Ausrail Plus take place here each year.

Since opening in 1995, the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre has showcased the talent of Australia’s leading Indigenous and non-Indigenous contemporary artists.

Comprising more than 50 works including paintings, works on paper, sculptures and site-specific installations, the BCEC Art Collection tells the dynamic and diverse story of visual arts practice in Australia from the 1980s through to today.

BCEC is the only convention centre in Australia with a dedicated and permanent art gallery space.  The Plaza Gallery is home to one of the most significant collections of Central Desert Art, a legacy of Expo ’88.

The Centre makes its Art Collection accessible to visitors and members of the public as part of its long term commitment to showcasing and supporting contemporary Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australian Art.
